Datamation review of IT Salary Data

IT Salary Data Updated in Latest Survey - IT salary levels clearly face challenges created by the economic downturn. Unfortunately, IT salary raises have been minimal or none at all. According to Janco Associates, an IT-focused consulting firm that conducts annual IT salary surveys, “there is now a surplus of seasoned IT professionals” – hence the ceiling on IT salary increases.

More findings from Janco relating to 2010 IT salary:

  • Layoffs have focused on middle management and IT support staff.
  • Many mid-sized enterprises have stopped hiring all IT professionals altogether.
  • IT hiring is limited to a few selected positions as enterprise continue to cut costs.

Mid-sized companies are companies whose gross revenues are less than $500 MM.)
